Something different

I don’t usually use tanning product as I am olive skinned but during lock down with no holidays my legs haven’t seen the light of day in years. Therefore, I thought I’d try something to even out my skin tone.So on first inspection the package is nice and you get a lot of product. The lotion has a nice smell (not like some fake tan or gradual tanners). It smells like a nice moisturiser. The coverage was a little streaky at first but if you treat it like a regular moisturiser it then has a less streaky/ nice coverage. It is a good moisturiser, leaving the skin smooth, soft and silky- maybe a little greasy. The colour was subtle and suited me well. I only wanted it for my legs so there isn’t going to be a vast difference in colour of the rest of my body. One massive plus is that it doesn’t stain your hands. I washed them straight after applying the lotion, but I know other tans stain badly and ruin the look. I noticed that during the 30 minutes since I’ve applied the lotion, the colour has got steadily darker. I think it’s quite a nice shade, not too orange.I read the reviews about a burning feeling. I’m pretty hardy to stuff like that so thought like some reviewers it couldn’t affect me. I made the mistake of applying it near the radiator. After about 5 minutes my legs tingled, after 10 minutes I felt some light burning (uncomfortable but not unmanageable- think more an itch than a burn). I then noticed my legs started going red and blotchy, they were also hot to the touch. I thought that being next to a heat source might be a triggering factor for this, so moved away from the radiator. After 15 minutes the “burning” lessened to a tingle. I know this lotion is supposed to be used with a tanning bed, but if you have sensitive skin I’d be wary of using it with a heat source as this seems to make the burning worse.I’m not sure if using a tanning bed enhances the wear time/shade. I haven’t showered since applying it yet so not sure how long it will last without a tanning bed.In a nut shell, I would use the product again (what’s left in the tube). But if I was buying tanning lotion in future I’d look for one without the burning (I’m not sure what this adds, other than discomfort and red skin).UPDATE: after the lotion was on for 40 minutes it felt like I was wearing trousers which had been on the radiator and were just getting hotter. Although I only applied the lotion to my lower leg, the blotchy red spread all up my thigh. I needed up having to wash it off after an hour as the rash/burning was getting worse. Even after washing it off with soap and water in the shower, then using regular moisturiser my legs are still burning and red. I think I may have had an allergic reaction to this cream.

Works - but read the warning label!

This product hugely intrigued me! After reading the product description.... tingles/Burning Sensation/Extreme Tanning Lotion/Triple Black Tan/Darkest Tan Possible... I couldn't help but take the plunge and try it! Mad or Bad?!The product itself is in a fairly standard size tanning shop cream bottle (281ml to be exact), just like one of the ones you can buy from high street tanning saloons. The cost for this product is on par with some of the other products i have been upsold at tanning shops. All make promises to give you an amazing Sunkist tan, but only if you tan with this product! Have they ever lived up to the hype... well it's difficult to tell, i am after all using a sunbed which will result in me tanning regardless of if i put at expensive cream on or not.So this product.... well i tested it in two scenarios. Fully Scientific of course ;)1st Test - and i did this purely because of the warning on the product description and the bottle 'For Advanced Professional Tanners Only' (What is an advanced/professional tanner?!) I put the product on my right ankle - below the sock line so i could hide it if it went wrong! Now the product says use before you visit an indoor tanning saloon, but because of other reviews and people claiming it was more like fake tan i decided to try it prior to having a sun bed. I squirted out a small amount of the product, the equivalent to what i would use for a normal cream and rubbed it into my upper ankle. The only way i can describe the product is it is a bit like a really melted soft toffee that you have left on your car dash and it's baked in the sun. I rubbed the cream into my upper ankle and left it. The first thing i noticed was that it made the area look as if i had indeed put a fake tan product on. The scent from the product was actually seriously pleasant!! The product rubbed in easily and well and felt very moisturising. I had shorts on so just went about my business... any tingle or burning sensation... no... however about an hour in i felt as if i had pins and needles around the area i had placed the product. The sensation definitely wasn't annoying or hugely unpleasant, but i was definitely starting to experiencing the manufactures 'tingling' sensation. Looking at my ankle i noticed that it was red, not bright red, but red like you had sat in the sun all day by the beach and not put any sun cream on. Yes i looked like i had sunburn! After around another 15mins my leg did start to feel hot... it was exactly the same sensation i have got in the past when i have got sun burn. Great i thought - that wasn't what i wanted!! However within around 90mins the sensation had subsided, but the reddening was still there. To be very honest i was fairly happy with the look. It did look like sunburn but it gave a nice glow! I checked my ankle again the following morning and all the reddening had gone, there was a clear change of colour between the area i had put the cream on and the area without cream. It wasn't super dark, but it certainly was slightly sunkist!Test 2 - Now the anxiety of burning and 'advance tanners only' had subsided i decided to do my whole leg just prior to going for my usual 8 minute sun bed. I didn't do my whole body as i wanted to actually test to see if the product worked and if i had of smothered myself I wouldn't be able to tell! And no i wasn't going to do half my body :0) !! Again i put an amount on that i would normally use with other cream type products. I had my sunbed and didn't feel any burning or tingling. However about 20 mins after leaving the tanning saloon the pins and needles followed by the sunburnt sensation came back. I was prepared this time so felt more at ease. The sensation lasted no longer than the previous evening and a couple of hours my leg felt fine. The following day I asked my partner if my legs were different shades and the answer was yes... while not a huge difference it was slightly noticeable that the leg i had applied the cream on was slightly darker than the other. One thing I did notice is that the leg with the cream application did feel noticeably softer. So in summary did it work? Well yes I think it did... Obviously with one application the results are not going to be hugely substantial, but with regular use i do think it would definitely make your tan darker. The product also warns against putting on couperose skin and also against applying to your face.Disclaimer: Yes i am a man... but i do still like to have a sunkist glow!! :0)I hope you enjoyed reading my review!

Be warned - strong tingle but gets short term results!

I am about to go on holiday for the first time in two years, so I have been visiting my local tanning salon to try and get a bit of colour in preparation for my upcoming two weeks in the sun. I am aware of various creams and moisturisers that you can use to enhance your tan and get better results before using a sunbed, but I wasn’t aware of “tingle” creams until I got the opportunity to try this – so here we go!I decided just to use this on my arms and my legs and I would avoid my torso and face. The cream is very pleasant to use, easy to apply and absorbs readily and seems to be streak free. There is clearly a bit of natural tan in the cream because when I looked at my hands after applying it I could clearly see a tan on the palms of my hands. I applied it immediately before using the sunbed then went on for nine minutes. It was a stand-up sunbed, so I was holding onto the straps, and after a few minutes I could feel my forearms beginning to get quite warm and tingly. At one point (still holding the straps) I absent mindedly used my forearm to wipe my forehead and sure enough my forehead began to tingle where I’ve obviously got some cream on it! A short while later my legs joined the party and also began to get very warm. Just as things began to get really uncomfortable my 9 minutes were up - thank goodness I didn’t do longer! There was an immediate difference to my arms and legs, and it looked like I had been lay in the Sun on a very hot day without any suncream on - bright red. I was actually pleased with this because having used the sunbed a couple of times already and not seen any noticeable results, it was nice to see some colour (albeit red) and the amount of discomfort I have experienced had only been minimal. However, the warm, tingly, uncomfortableness continued after my session finished. Do you remember the ready Brek advert where the child had a red ring around him illustrating a warm glow? That’s how I felt. I came home, jumped in the bath, but still the tingle continued accompanied by an itchiness. It was probably a good couple of hours after my sunbed session before I finally began to feel at ease. My legs drove me mad in this few hours but my forearms were not so bad. I applied body lotion to my legs thinking that might help calm things down and that just seem to set them off again! There is no doubt that this product works and it definitely does enhance your tanning experience initially, but by next morning I can’t say there was any noticeable difference. So is the uncomfortableness worth the results? You decide. This is a product that will get results but you need to write the rest of the day off after you’ve used it. I find the cool down period after using it more uncomfortable than when you’re actually on the sunbed. I strongly suspect the parts of the body that are less used to being exposed to the sun (so in my case my legs) react more violently to this product and parts of the body that are frequently exposed (hands, forearms and face) are more tolerant.Despite the uncomfortableness of the after effects, I will use this again….just to see if I am more tolerant to it on a second use if nothing else. Fortunately I work shifts so I’m able to put a couple of hours aside after using this product to allow my body to recover, and I’m prepared to suffer a couple of hours discomfort which will hopefully let me enjoy two weeks in the sun with more freedom.

Indoor tanning bed lotion -Whoa feels like minor sunburn after using

Whoa this stuff actually seems like it’s working.I have my own indoor tanning bed that has some special power bronze lightbulbs that makes it a 10-13 min tanning bed. I get pretty dark with them, but I can’t seem to tan as often as I want with the kids. Anyway, I’ve never tried tingle lotion before. I’ve always wanted to, but was hesitant. So I was happy I was presented with the opportunity to try this out. This stuff has a slight candy smell when it comes out and looks like dark foundation. I applied this well into only my arms. No where else. I felt slight tingle sensation about 5 mins in before I jumped into my tanning bed. As soon as it kicked on I felt this stuff do it’s magic. It kinda feels like minor sunburn discomfort and almost tiny stinging sensation as well. It’s like it made the blood rush into my arms leaving my arms red and flushed. Again, not sure if this is normal as I’ve never used before. This stuff actually looks like it spread into other parts of my arm shoulder too. Areas that I didn’t apply but were close to the exposed areas of application. About 5 hours in my skin still has a reddish look to it as I had sat in the sun. Anyhoo, kinda excited and look forward to using this on my body. I wouldn’t apply this to my face- I don’t think it’s recommend for that area. This arrived seran wrapped sealed and has an inner seal you gotta pull off to get to product. So you know it’s brand new before it gets to you. Otherwise it might of been tampered with.
